There is a primary election taking place on June 25 for offices that you’ve probably never heard about until recently.
It’s for your representation on the Monroe County Democratic Committee.
Here’s what you need to know. Each election district – a small slice of your neighborhood – has four Democratic representatives on the committee. If more than four people want to be on the committee, we have an election. That’s what’s happening this year.
The Democratic Committee plays a pivotal role in choosing candidates, setting policy priorities and making sure Democrats are successful at the polls. It’s crucial we have active, involved people to represent us. Unfortunately, the party often operates like a secret club only open to insiders, and their family members and friends. That’s why we are having this election – to open up the committee to more neighbors like you!
Again, the primary is on June 25. Early voting starts June 15. Look up whether you’re eligible vote in these races and your polling site here.
